the Director --
MorningStar
is still open and seeking means to remain
so!
I learned a little
Chinese during my years in China as a lay-missioner, and one
of my favorite Chinese characters is the word "CRISIS."
The character is actually two words put together: "Danger"
and "Opportunity". The crisis moment that
MorningStar finds itself in -- being placed on the diocese's "for
sale" list --is a "dangerous opportunity" moment
in our history. "Dangerous" in that we have
at-risk the loss of this holy ground. "Opportunity"
in that we do have a chance to work to find a way forward
which would meet the financial needs of the archdiocese while
retaining the property for continued service to the Church
in retreat ministry.
Fr. Jim Fetscher,
Vicar of MorningStar, the staff and our Board of Directors
are working diligently to craft our way forward. As
our "Save MorningStar" campaign continues to take
shape, we will need everyone who values this place and believes
in the work of God that is accomplished here to assist us

MorningStar Renewal Center
is a non-profit ministry of the Archdiocese of Miami offering
a full schedule of retreats, lectures and other opportunities
for faith formation, spiritual renewal, and ministry development.
The staff and volunteers
of MorningStar also provide hospitality to the many Churches
and organizations that rent the facility for their own programs
and retreats.

team, Debbie and Mary Jesurun. Expect an inspirational

wonderful opportunity for married couples to learn together
in a way that will benefit their marriage. Based on the book
"A Lasting Promise: A Christian Guide to Fighting For
Your Marriage", this evening will energize and empower
you as a couple. The presentation will begin with a Happy
1/2 Hour, followed by a two hour seminar.
